The Polish state has decided to extend the right to an additional care allowance between September 1 and September 20, 2020.
Parents of children under 8 are entitled to additional care allowance if the parent takes personal care of the child in the case of:
vThe closure due to COVID-19 of a nursery, a children’s club, a kindergarten, a school or another establishment frequented by the child,
The opening of these facilities when these facilities cannot be provided due to their limited operation during COVID-19 (for example when classes are held in hybrid mode, i.e. some children are studying at school and some at home) or
Inability to provide nanny care or inability to provide care by a babysitter due to COVID-19.
Situation of disabled children
From September 1 to 20, 2020, an additional childcare allowance due to the closure of a crèche, a children’s club, a kindergarten, a school or another institution attended by the child, but also in the event of opening of these, when these institutions cannot ensure the care or in the absence of possibilities of the care by a nanny or a day care guard because of COVID- 19 is recognized for insured parents of elderly children:
up to 16 years old with a disability certificate,
up to 18 years of age who have a severe or moderate disability certificate,
up to 24 years who have a special education certificate.
